Our Story
Our Story
It's all about wine and grapes for us, but not just any wine and grapes. Our passion is wine from grapes we know were grown naturally, managed responsibly, and minimally crafted. So, we decided to do it ourselves. Our family found a young vineyard in the beautiful Southern Oregon Applegate Valley to try our hand at growing and crafting clean, natural, uniquely terroir driven grapes and wine. It's the perfect size for hands on farming set amid the Siskiyou Mountain range, and the Applegate Valley.
Co-owner Laloni Cook manages the tasting room and all customer service and is available for all inquiries. A Pacific Northwest native, she grew up splitting time between Port Angeles, Washington and Grants Pass, Oregon and still calls both home. Co-owner Noah Lowry comes from a farming and ranching background and manages all vineyard operations.
When we took over the vineyard in 2016 and started the remodel of the tasting room that spanned over two years, we wanted to keep sustainability in mind. Opening in February of 2019, the tasting room , a repurposed farm structure incorporating rustic elements of salvaged barn wood and mushroom board with a progressively-inspired interactive hempcrete learning wall, is a testament to the diversity and ever-evolving landscape of Southern Oregon wine region.
We also wanted to not just have a run of the mill tasting room we wanted you to feel at home with us. Countless building materials used in the remodel process were repurpose into the tasting room. Upcycled bricks, barnwood, and hinges from our ranch in California can be found all around the tasting room, along with trinkets that once belonged to Laloni’s grandmother and a stunning cinder pine rough cut table that came from Noah’s father. A hempcrete feature wall, made from ground up stalks of industrial hemp plant, also serves as another gorgeous, yet sustainable, focal point within our tasting room. No matter where you look in the tasting room you will find an item with a story from the ceiling, the framed artwork all the way down to glass bottles found on the farm displayed with love. Guest of all walks of life are encouraged to come as they are and indulge in the cozy warmth of the repurposed fireplace to share wine, beer and spritzers with loved ones - or even make new friends along the way. Our tasting room offers a uniquely boutique experience. Enjoy our one of a kind estate wines set amidst the vine rows with custom vintage style highlighting the beautiful views of the vineyard from every window. We’re open Thursday-Sunday 1pm to 6pm along with availability for holiday private parties and special wine club events. We can’t wait to see you and have you become a part of our vineyard’s story

Linda Donovan

Winemaker
Linda Donovan has been passionate about winemaking since she started her degree in fermentation science (UC Davis) in 1990. While working her "way up" in Napa and on the true Sonoma coast, Linda explored many wine-growing regions around the world. After a stint in Western Australia (Margaret River), Linda chose to pioneer the Rogue Valley in 2001. "At that time, there were 5 wineries here, and no one was growing the varietals I wanted to make," said Linda. So she planted them (Mourvedre, Grenache, Cinsault and Carignane).
Linda is the owner of Pallet Wine Company which is the first and busiest custom crush and private label wine facility in Southern Oregon. Linda is also the owner of The Urban Cork where she showcases her clients' wines in her urban tasting room. Taste wines from the Rogue Valley, Applegate Valley, Umpqua Valley, Willamette Valley, and Central Oregon- all made next door by Pallet Wine Company. They have over 130 wines and a new, different tasting flight each week.

She has helped support her husband’s marketing business for many years and loves thinking outside the box when it comes to ways to help businesses stand out and grow. Through VanDusen Design she helps several Southern Oregon small businesses with content creation, education and marketing plans. She of course fell in love with Aprictiy Vineyard wines but what makes her come back time after time is the relationships and atmosphere. “I love what I do for Apricity Vineyard, and I love watching our guests support our dreams and growth.”
Michelle Stapleton

Tasting Room Ambassador
She started her first job in the wine industry in 2017 and fell in love with not only the wine but the wine-making process along with the customers in this corner of the industry. After meeting Laloni she expressed that her tasting room would be opening soon. “I was there for opening weekend and never left. It became my favorite place to go on Sundays! Soon after, Apricitiy and its staff became not only our friends but our family!”
She began helping in the tasting room with special events in the summer of 2020 and couldn't get enough of the atmosphere and customer base we had built! “It just feels like home!”
Michelle and Curtis were married on the grounds in October 2020. Curtis is an amazing chef and has catered a couple of Oregon Wine Experience vintner dinners at Apricity.
Now you can find her either catering Sunday fundays with Curtis or behind the counter ready to serve you the best live and naturally grown wine around!
Jamie Hathaway

Tasting Room Ambassador
She started The Thirsty Wheel, a vintage 1966 Aristocrat trailer turned stylish mobile bar in 2019. “Working with clients to help celebrate special moments is such a fun and rewarding job!” Whether it’s turning people on to these wonderfully crafted Southern Oregon Wines, or creating signature cocktails for her own business’ clients, connecting with people over drinks is what makes her happy.
